I, Eric Mayell do solemnly and sincerely declare that:

I am a British subject by birth, in possession of passport number 2494, issued at Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. 16th Sept 1931.

I am a motion picture cameraman employed by Movietonews Inc: 460 West 54th Street, New York.

On December 11 1937 I was evacuated from Nanking, China and went on board the U. S. S. "Panay".

On December 12 1937 the "Panay" was bombed and sunk by Japanese airplanes. My personal effects went down with the ship. They are itemised on the attached sheet of paper. Their value amounts to Nine hundred dollars and seventythree cents, United States currency.

I make this solemn declaration conscientiously and believing same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of the Statutory Declarations Act, 1835.
